We never ate out much; too expensive. But, if we did, someone like Gladys waited on us. She is dressed in her uniform, complete with apron and name tag. Her hair is unnaturally shaped by a hairnet; her feet are squeezed into ortheopedic shoes; and her hands are poised to take your order. She wears a wedding ring, a watch, and make-up (green eye shadow and red nail polish.) Her interior spaces are collaged with tablecloth prints, except for the drawer in her middle, which is lined in red and black tiger print (her passion pit!) Her legs are lined with Budweiser labels. And in her head is a picture of Marilyn Monroe, whom she thinks she looks a bit like, because they both have a mole!
